About Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Outreach
The SWE Outreach committee hosts events throughout the school year to introduce K-12 students to engineering and the Grainger college.
We host six large events, two with high school students (Empowering Students in Engineering and SWE Design & Build), one with elementary school students (Dads 4 Daughters), two with middle school students (Engineering Exploration and Strong Women Strong Girls), and one with all ages (Engineering Open House).
In addition to those large events, we run For Kids Only, where we work with a local elementary school to teach STEM lesson plans to students. We also work to build relationships with SWENext chapters in the Champaign Urbana and Chicagoland area.
Contact Tessa Kleiner (tessamk2@illinois.edu) or Jillian Kouzmanoff (jjk19@illinois.edu) if you are interested in collaborating with SWE’s Outreach or have any questions!
